car insurance

by Mary
(Toronto, Ontario)

My son is leaving Toronto for about 6 months and he is going to park his car in my garage. He's thinking of not buying insurance (he's okay if the car is being stolen, or burnt as it's not a very expensive car).

However, if someone steals the car and injure or kill someone or himself, will my son be liable for the injured or deceased - does he have liability as he's the car owner. I am the house owner, am I liable?

Liability on Parked Car

Hi Mary,
I don't know. I suppose it's possible.

temporary permit/insurance
by: Anonymous

My Question is I want to buy a car but the car is currently unregistered so I applied for a temporary permit so I can bring it to the garage and emmission testing but they said the vehicle should be insured before they can issue me the temporary permit...my question is this is there a 15 day (coz the temporary permit is 10 days) insurance that i can get so that in case the car is not road worthy and i cant register it.. I dont lose too much money on the insurance, whats the best thing to do in this kind of situation..thanks for the advice
