Car Insurance question

How are rates set on a car? Does the colour matter?

Answer to your question about car insurance rates:

I think you are asking: "which car has the best insurance rates?"

The answer changes somewhat with each insurance company. They each have their own idea of which car is best. In order to set rates, insurers look at safety records of each vehicle, the performance abilities of the car, and how often that type of vehicle is stolen.

I can tell you with confidence that the colour of the car does not matter. If the car is modified in some way (a larger engine for example) that will matter to the insurance company.

The newer a car is the higher the rate will be for physical damage to it.
