Cancelled home insurance policy after 25 years

by Agnes
(Oshawa, Ontario, Canada)

I have just received a phone call from my insurance company to tell me that they have canceled my homeowners policy. Received the call November 3rd...policy renewal date was November 1st. I have had the policy through the same company Dominion Insurance for 25 years. Have never been late on a payment and never made a claim. How can this happen?

Home Insurance Cancellation

Hello Agnes,
Not sure! They ought to have given some reason. Even a vague one like "underwriting rules". Or non payment of premium.

Call your broker back and ask for more information.
