Can my driving record affect my fiance's premium even though I have my own car and my own insurance?
I had insurance with a company and had my boyfriend change over to the same company because they were cheaper, and shortly after, they wouldn't renew my policy because I had 2 accidents in 10 years and I had to go to high risk insurance. 6 months later, they sent my fiance a letter saying that they were cancelling his insurance next month because he lives with me. are they able to do this? I have my own car and my insurance so I don't even drive his car, and will all insurance companies penalize him because I have a bad driving record and he lives with me, even though I have my own policy?
High Risk Driver, Two Policies
It will be tougher for him to get coverage with you in the house. But if he offers proof that you have your own coverage, and if you are excluded from his policy, you should be able to get coverage.
You and he will just have to shop around for a willing insurer for him
