Can a privately owned but not to be used car without insurance

I live in Ontario. For some reasons I intend to discontinue the insurance of a car which I am not going to use for several months. Can I legally do that? Will there be any problems when I, say 9 months later, buy insurance again ? No Insurance on CarHi Simon if no one drives the car, ever, then you can take insurance off. But keep in mind that there is no coverage for anything. Not even fire or theft.
