BINDING without Signatures

How is it that some companies, such as RBC Insurance, did not require me to sign Home and Auto applications when I applied? They simply issued the policies? Why did I have to sign an application with previous Broker?
Binding policies
This varies from company to company. Most brokerages want to protect themselves from liability by having signatures on file. The carriers like RBC operate in a call centre environment and record the conversations. Either way, the insurer has proof of what you agreed to.
Hope that helps
