Am I Obligated to inform Insurance Co of Demerits?

I was recently convicted of Stunt Driving, given 6 demerits and fined $1000. Am I obligated to inform my Insurance Company of the conviction/demerits?
Stunt Driving
Hi Dean, They will find out when they check your driving record (many carriers do this every year). And if you neglect to tell them it could cause you problems. Some people don't make an effort to call their insurer and inform them of these things and "get away with it" for a short time. But don't lie.
