Am I allowed to drive?
by Tanner
(Ontario, Canada)
I am a G2 driver in Ontario, Canada.
I do not have my own insurance, but I've been told for example as long my mom has insurance and the car is insured I am allowed to drive it as long as I have permission.
I have also heard otherwise.. can someone help me clear this up.
Thanks.

Hi Tanner,
It would be good for your mom to check with her insurance company.
If you live with her, you need to be listed on the policy. If you don't live with her, she can lend you the car on occasion and coverage is in place. But it affects you and her if there is a claim. That's why it is important to discuss in more detail with her insurer.
