Adding my vehicle to my brother's insurance

Hello I just recently moved from US. I have to register my car and when i called to make an insurance the rate is extremely high. I wanted to know if I can add myself to my brother's insurance, here in Ontario, we live together. And if I do do I need to switch the ownership of the car to his name? To reduce rates, you should get an abstract from the state you came from as well as a Letter of Experience from your old insurer.
