Accident with charges but wanting to avoid insurance claim
I was in an accident yesterday I was deemed by the police officer to be at fault and she laid a charge for $85 and 2 demerit points. My car had $500 damage after I took it to the autobody shop. The other car has more damage. If I pay for all repairs do I have to report the accident to my insurance company?
Accident and Insurance Claim
Hi there,
If you paid for your car and the other person's car, there is a chance that your insurer would not find out. But odds are they will. And odds are it's easiest for everyone if it all just goes through insurance. You really are supposed to report accidents. And it can be a big headache trying to avoid putting in a claim when there are multiple vehicles involved.
Good luck.
