Accident while driving someone else's car
(Ontario)
My husband was driving his sister's car and got in a small accident. We live in Ontario and his sister lives in Nova Scotia. How do insurance companies usually handle this?
Answer: How Does Insurance Handle Accidents While Driving Someone Else's Car?
Hi there,
Your sister in laws insurance will cover the damages and the at fault accident will affect her rates.
That said, if this shows up on his driving record here in Ontario, it might also affect his/your auto insurance rates here in Ontario.
That is an unfair situation where your husband and his sister could both be punished for one incident.
Good luck!
