26 year old son insured as principle driver on my car

Would like to give my son my old car and insure him as the principle driver. Son as Primary DriverHi Rita, If you keep ownership of the car, and list him as primary driver and inform the insurer of his location, that would be fine. However, as the registered owner, and policy holder, you would be liable if he had an accident. If you want to avoid liability, transfer the ownership to him, and have him set up his own insurance.
